THE ORIGIN, FAMILY DYNASTY AND HISTORY OF GUMEDE SURNAME.

Greetings to all Gumede people and as well as everyone reading this article. In this short article Gumede surname is going to be discussed to it fully and this include, its origin  and family dynasty of the gumedes. The origin of this surname is going to be traced where they came from and what caused them to move from their original land to another territories they are residing at right now.

The surname of Gumede comes from one of the Sons of Malandela.Qwabe was born before Zulu and that makes their history to look almost similar to each other. Between this brothers there was a disagreement concerning who must look after the castles(imfuyo) just like all families.Qwabe the brother of zulu liked hunting more than other things and that led his brother Zulu to look after Imfuyo and other family matters as Qwabe ignored them. As the result of this situation there fore Qwabe abandoned his home to build his Home close and next to Mhlathuze river near the Ngoye mountain hills.He named his home Kwamthandeni (those who love) because he thought other people would love him more than his family.

The Qwabe nation is very wide because they own land from Mthethwa nation to Dube nation until  its reaches Hlathinini at Enkandla. As this surname widens surname like Gumede, Khuzwayo, Simamane, Makhanya and Nqetho came into existance.

When Dingiswayo was leading the Mthethwas, Qwabe was led by Khondlo. when the Qwabe was abandoning their land to uMvoti over Thugela river Phakathwayo led the Qwabes. Nandi the one who gave birth to the most famous well known zulu king Shaka once found a place to live under the Qwabe Clan in the home of Magedeyana. This nation lived between Maphumulo and Kwa Dukuza.

However there are other Gumedes who do not arise under the Qwabe family and these are the Gumede of Maqalaba and Manukuza. they are all part of the Gumede even tho they are comming from the west in east of mozambique.
